About the Treasurer, Bookkeeper & Inventory Manager
Connie became involved in Clan Maclean at the urging of her sister, Betsy McLean and her late mother, Patricia Mills McLean. She takes great pride in the Best Tent awards won at The Loch Norman Highland Games at Rural Hill, Triad Games in Greensboro, Bethabara Games in Winston-Salem, and Grandfather Mountain Highland Games where they have won both “Best Tent Award” and “Clan of Excellence”. Betsy and Connie convened 8 games in 2015.
Connie is an accomplished crafter and seamstress. She won the 2007 “Best in Show” ribbon as well as first place “Blue Ribbon” at the North Carolina State Fair for her wedding dress made as a surprise for Johnnie McLean, when her husband Bob McLean presented her with a renewal of their wedding vows at Duart Castle on Mull in 2007. She also won a “Blue Ribbon” for a jacket she made for herself in Duart Dress Red Tartan. Being an avid seamstress, Connie enjoys collecting Maclean Tartan yardage and has several pieces waiting for her scissors and thread.
In addition to her duties as Treasurer, Connie is also the Deputy Convener for North Carolina with her sister, Betsy McLean Convener for North Carolina.
