Membership Types & Fees
The activities of Clan Maclean in the United States are funded primarily by the membership fees of its members. We work hard to ensure that our fees remain as low as possible while continuing to support our members.
Regular

Individuals bearing the Maclean name1 either by birth or marriage, or who’s maternal parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent bore the Maclean name1 are eligible for regular membership.
Annual Membership

Associate

Individual with a direct but with more remote connection to Maclean or Sept ancestry more than 4 generations ago (e.g. a great2 grandparent) who are at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Affiliate

Individuals without a direct connection to the Clan Maclean who are at least 21 years old, of Scottish descent, not otherwise qualified for membership, and endorsed two Life Members are eligible for affiliate membership.

Notes
- Includes all the various alternative spellings of the name as well as the various Sept names (see Septs & Families).
- The New Membership Fee must accompany the membership application. Pro-rated dues amount may be used (see table to the right).
- New members who join in September through May will then be billed for the full Annual Fee in July, just as all other members.
