The Lake Hopatcong Person of the year reflects one of the many caring people who stepped forward to help anyone who needed assistance during the onslaught of the pandemic. This was a time where many had lost their jobs, unemployment benefits were clogged in the system, and even the basic necessities of life like food, and household supplies were out of reach for many people.
Everything started as Alex McLean was working on how to get lunches to the students as they started remote learning. It quickly became apparent that the problem extended beyond just the lunches and included entire families that needed assistance.
